The building, which dates from the 12th century, housed a girls boarding school in the 1400’s. Closed on the 19th century , the site was recently restored to its former splendor and prepared for its present use and becomes a masterpiece of art. This work has left unaltered the original structure of the building, and has successfully created an elegant, charming residence in the heart of Lucca’s historic city center.
The décor of the residence reflects the noble Lucchese style with the use of antique wood floors in all the bedrooms and fine marble and other local stones in the bathrooms, lobby and common rooms. The entrance hall, breakfast room, bar and lobby are tastefully decorated with fine fixtures and upholstery in elegant pastel hues.
Located in the center of Lucca’s historic district inside the city wall, Hotel Palazzo Alexander is easily reached from the main highway exits and from local train and bus stations.
